Paramount Pictures has listened to fans of the Sonic game universe and completely redesigned the film adaptation of the famous supersonic hedgehog. You can see his new look in the fresh trailer for the movie "Sonic the Hedgehog."
Let’s remember that earlier this year, the studio released for the film, which drew a wave of criticism from fans. The hedgehog shown there was not only far from his game prototype but at times looked as if he came from a horror movie. Even one of the creators of the game series, Yuji Naka, ironically questioned whether the film was really about Sonic. Overall, the reaction was so intense that Paramount postponed the film's release date and decided to completely redraw the main character. The new premiere is set for February 14, 2020.
In the new trailer, the character's appearance has become much closer to his classic look. Now Sonic has taken on a more cartoonish appearance: with big eyes, a shorter body, gloves on his hands, and without those frightening teeth (initially, they looked as if he had a human-sized dental implant in his mouth).
"Sonic the Hedgehog" is a live-action adventure comedy. Sonic arrives on Earth from his world, befriends a new friend, Tom Wachowski (James Marsden), and together they embark on a hilarious journey to escape from Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey). The devious doctor is plotting to take over the world — to do this, he needs to catch Sonic and harness his incredible power.
