Oracle has announced a new release of its free distribution, Oracle Linux 8.1, built on the package base of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.1.
In the new version:
- support for Memory Mode for Intel Optane DC Persistent Memory has been added
- the udica package has been added
- virt-manager has been marked as deprecated
- support for Btrfs has been removed from RHCK
- support for OCFS2 has been removed from RHCK
The SELinux utilities have been updated to version 2.9, the SETools utilities have been updated to version 4.2.2, OpenSCAP packages have been updated to version 1.3.1, OpenSSH has been updated to version 8.0p1.
The distribution is available without restrictions after free registration. Access to yum repository is unlimited.
