Devuan is a Linux distribution created from Debian to provide an alternative init software for systemd and alternative dependencies for the features and libraries offered by systemd. The latest release of the project is Devuan 2.1, which simplifies the choice between SysV init and OpenRC during installation. The distribution no longer provides ARM or virtual machine images, and the option to exclude non-free firmware is now available in the Expert installation program.
Features of the new release:
- Installer ISO images for Devuan ASCII 2.1 are now available, including desktop and minimal live ISO images;
- This release does not include ARM or virtual images;
- The option to select OpenRC in the installer has been added.
