In Redmond, they want to avoid confusing Windows 10 version 2003 with Windows Server 2003. Although how they could be confused is questionable, since the former is a desktop OS and the latter is a server OS. However, the company believes that launching Windows 10 20H1 under the name 2003 could lead to even further confusion when discussing Windows Server 2003.
At the same time, Microsoft has yet to announce the official name for the first major update of Windows 10 that is scheduled to appear in 2020. So, things could still change.
