After a 24-hour interruption, Microsoft has restored access to the previously forcibly blocked GitHub repository. Visual Studio Code (a code editor developed by Microsoft for Windows, Linux, and macOS, distributed with open-source code under a non-free license). The issue arose due to SantaGate - complaints the 'Easter' add-on in the editor's interface featuring a Santa Claus hat and about 50 other complaints regarding the symbols used that provoked offense to users' religious sentiments.
