Pine64 has announced announces the start of sales for the free secure smartphone PinePhone. This smartphone is aimed at those who believe that individuals should have complete control over their technology and lives. Anyone who values privacy and dislikes the telemetry of Android and iOS is a potential buyer of the PinePhone. It's time to send Big Brother away /dev/null!
The first batch sold out like hotcakes, but soon in the store a new batch will appear.
The PinePhone costs only $150. The smartphone's hardware is fully replaceable - each module can be removed and replaced, or upgraded to a more powerful one via detachable ribbons.
The PinePhone supports multiple operating systems:
- Postmarket OS (KDE Plasma Mobile pre-installed);
- UBPorts (Ubuntu Touch);
- Maemo Leste;
- Nemo Mobile;
- Manjaro;
- LuneOS;
- SailfishOS;
- Support for NixOS will be available soon.
