In anticipation of the upcoming Embedded World 2020 exhibition, I decided to check the list of companies from Russia. After filtering the list of participants by country of origin, I was pleasantly surprised. The official website of the exhibition yielded a list of as many as 27 companies!!! For comparison: there are 22 companies from Italy, 34 from France, and 10 from India.
What could this mean? Where are so many domestic manufacturers of hardware and software presenting their products on the international market?
Could this be:
- a sign of the revival of the Russian electronics industry?
- a result of the 'import substitution' policy?
- a reaction to the adopted strategy for the development of the electronics industry in Russia?
- the result of the work of the association of electronics developers and manufacturers (ARPE)?
- the result of the Moscow Export Center's efforts?
- the result of Skolkovo's work?
- the efforts of startups to find investors?
- a consequence of the lack of customers in the domestic market?
- a result of competition with state corporations?
I do not know the answer, and I would be glad to hear readers' comments regarding this phenomenon.
