At the end of last year that BioWare is busy completely reworking the unsuccessful multiplayer action RPG Today this was officially confirmed.

BioWare and Electronic Arts want to give Anthem a second chance, just as Square Enix did with Final Fantasy XIV. The latter was heavily criticized by players and the media for its poor quality and shut down after two years. Then Square Enix decided to relaunch it, and now Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is one of the most popular MMORPGs.

Regarding Anthem, BioWare stated in a statement that the team had been working for the past year to improve the game's stability, performance, and overall quality, as well as to release three seasons of content. However, all this was not enough to satisfy users, as the project had its fair share of problems, ranging from the loot system to an empty endgame.

“We recognize that there is still a lot of fundamental work to be done to unlock the game’s full potential, and this may require a more significant rethink than an update or expansion,” BioWare: "In the coming months, we'll be focusing on a longer-term redesign of the game, specifically working to rebuild the core gameplay loop with clear goals, motivating challenges, and meaningful rewards for progression—while preserving the joy of flying and fighting in a vast sci-fantasy setting."
The current version of Anthem will continue to operate for now. The developer promises to hold events, update the store, and repeat seasonal activities and Cataclysm content. The first event will be Anthem's anniversary celebration at the end of the month.

Anthem is available on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
