🥇 Linux From Scratch 9.1 and Beyond Linux From Scratch 9.1 have been published

New releases of guides Linux From Scratch 9.1 (LFS) and Beyond Linux From Scratch 9.1 (BLFS), as well as the LFS and BLFS editions with the system manager systemd. Linux From Scratch provides instructions on building a basic Linux system from scratch, using only the source texts of the required software. Beyond Linux From Scratch supplements the LFS instructions with information on assembling and configuring around 1000 software packages, covering various application areas, from databases and server systems to graphical shells and media players.

In Linux From Scratch 9.1 the transition to Glibc 2.30 and GCC 9.2.0 has been made. 33 packages have been updated, including the Linux kernel 5.2, transition to Glibc 2.31, SysVinit 2.96, and Systemd 244. Updated 35 packages, including Linux kernel 5.5.3, binutils 2.34, E2fsprogs 1.45.5, Eudev 3.2.9, Grep 3.4, Make 4.3, Meson 0.53.1, Openssl 1.1.1d, Perl 5.30.1, Python 3.8.1, Sed 4.8, Tcl 8.6.10, Util-Linux 2.35.1, Vim 8.2.0190. A new package zstd-1.4.4 has been added. Fixed bugs in boot scripts and made editorial updates throughout the explanatory materials in the book.

In Beyond Linux From Scratch 9.1, around 840 programs have been updated, including GNOME 3.34, KDE Plasma 5.18, KDE Applications 19.12.2, LibreOffice 6.4, AbiWord 3.0.4, Cups 2.3.1,
FFmpeg 4.2.2, GIMP 2.10.18, Thunderbird 68.5, Firefox 68.5.0,
SeaMonkey 2.53.1, etc.
