Geary 3.36 is a mail client for the GNOME environment

March 13 saw the release of the email client — Geary 3.36.

Geary — a simple email client with a 'light' interface and the necessary set of features for comfortable email management. The project was initiated by the Yorba Foundation, which also introduced the well-known photo management software Shotwell, but over time, the development burden shifted to the GNOME community. The project is written in VALA and is distributed under the LGPLlicense. The graphical toolkit used is the GTK3+.

Key innovations:

• The interface of the message editor has been revamped using responsive design. Screenshot
• Image insertion into the email text via Drag & Drop has been implemented.
• A new context menu for emoji insertion has been added.
• The 'Undo' changes mode has been reworked. It is now possible to 'undo' actions related to emails — moving, deleting, and so on.
• It is now possible to cancel the sending of an email within 5 seconds of sending it.
• The 'Hotkeys' now work by default with the Ctrl key instead of the previously used 'single-button' hotkeys.
• Double-clicking will open the conversation in a separate window.
