March 26, 2020, Apache Software Foundation, along with volunteer developers, stewards, incubators for 350 Open Source projects, celebrate 21 years of leadership in open source software!

In fulfilling its mission to provide software for the public good, the Apache Software Foundation community of volunteers has grown from 21 participants (who were developing the Apache HTTP server) to 765 individual contributors, 206 Apache project management committees, and 7600+ committers across ~300 projects, resulting in over 200 million lines of Apache code valued at over $20 billion.

Apache's revolutionary technologies are utilized everywhere, supporting much of the internet, managing exabytes of data, performing teraflop operations, and storing trillions of objects across virtually every industry. All Apache projects are available for free, with no licensing fees.

Dozens of enterprise-level Apache projects serve as the foundation for several notable and widely used applications in the fields of artificial intelligence and deep learning, big data, assembly management, cloud computing, content management, DevOps, IoT, Edge Computing, servers, and web frameworks, among many others.
