The YouTube channel BSoD Gaming has published a video showcasing the launch on PC using the Yuzu emulator, which recreates the internal workings of the Nintendo Switch console. While full emulation is not yet achieved, the game can at least be launched and played to some extent.
The fighting game delivers 48–60 frames per second on a configuration with an Intel Core i3-8350K processor, 16 GB of RAM, and an EVGA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics card. This frame rate is achieved when playing with 2–4 players. Increasing the number of gamers understandably raises the load on the system.
It is important to note that Yuzu renders Super Smash Bros. Ultimate correctly this time. However, it is recommended to run an older version of the emulator instead of the latest one, as the newest version has some graphical errors. The fighting game itself also suffers from bugs.
Given that Nintendo does not plan to release Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on PC, this is the best way for PC gamers to experience the project.
