After more than a year of development release of the user environment (Qt Lightweight Desktop Environment), developed team of developers from the LXDE and Razor-qt projects. The LXQt interface continues to follow the principles of classic desktop organization, bringing a modern design and techniques that enhance usability. LXQt is positioned as a lightweight, modular, fast, and user-friendly continuation of the Razor-qt and LXDE desktop environments, incorporating the best features of both shells. The code on GitHub and is released under the GPL 2.0+ and LGPL 2.1+ licenses. Ready builds are expected for (LXQt is offered by default in Lubuntu), , , , , , and .

- The file manager PCManFM-Qt and the underlying LibFM-Qt library have added support for a single window mode (without dialogs in separate windows).
The ability to permanently or temporarily save passwords used for mounting has been implemented (works with gnome-keyring).
The system for pop-up tooltips with file information has been improved. Support for placing desktop wallpapers in multi-monitor configurations has been added. - In the QTerminal terminal emulator, the settings dialog has been revamped to be more compact and scrollable. Custom fixed sizes can be set, and borderless display is supported. - In the LXImage-Qt image viewer, a dialog has been added to the file menu for opening files in external applications. The ability to customize hotkeys and the size of the recent files list has been included. An image outline display mode has been added.

Work continues on the release of LXQt 1.0.0, which will provide full support for operating over Wayland.
