The latest release of the Qmmp player has been unveiled. The player is written using the Qt library, features a modular structure, and comes with two user interface options.
The new release primarily focuses on enhancing existing features and supporting new versions of libraries.
Key Changes:
- code improvements considering changes in Qt 5.15;
- sleep mode locking;
- support transfer ListenBrainz to the 'native' API implemented as a separate module;
- automatic hiding of empty service menus;
- an option to disable double-pass equalizer;
- a unified implementation of the CUE parser for all modules;
- the FFmpeg module has been rewritten to add support for 'embedded' CUE for Monkey’s Audio;
- switching between playlists during playback;
- choosing the playlist format upon saving;
- new command line options: '--pl-next' and '--pl-prev' for changing the active playlist;
- support for SOCKS5 proxy;
- the ability to output average bitrate, including for Shoutcast/Icecast streams;
- support for Ogg Opus in the ReplayGain scanner;
- the possibility of merging tags in the mpeg module when outputting to the playlist;
- the ability to run a custom command when starting or exiting the program;
- support for DSD (Direct Stream Digital);
- support for libav and older versions of FFmpeg has been removed;
- the ability to obtain song lyrics from multiple sites simultaneously (based on the Ultimare Lyrics plugin);
- due to window management issues for Wayland sessions, the simple interface (QSUI) is always used by default;
- the QSUI interface has been improved:
- the ability to change the background of the current track;
- visualization in the form of an oscilloscope;
- gradients are utilized in rendering the analyzer;
- an alternative view of the analyzer;
- a scroll bar has been added with a 'waveform' shape;
- the appearance of the status bar has been enhanced;
- translations have been updated in 12 languages, including Russian and Ukrainian;
- packages have been prepared for Ubuntu 16.04 and higher.
At the same time, the set of additional modules qmmp-plugin-pack has been updated, including a module for playing audio from YouTube (used youtube-dl).
