• Password Manager:
  • From now on, warns you will be notified if the login and password saved for a website have been exposed in a leak from that site, as well as if the saved password has been found in a leak from another site (therefore, it's advisable to use unique passwords). The leak check does not reveal usernames and passwords to the remote server: the username and password are hashed, the first few characters of the hash are sent to the Have I Been Pwned service, which returns all hashes that match the query. The browser then locally verifies the full hash. A match indicates that the credentials are contained in a leak.
  • When creating a new account or changing an existing password, users are now automatically prompted to generate a strong password (12 characters, including letters, numbers, and special characters). This feature is now available for all fields, not just those with the attribute "autocomplete=new-password".
  • On macOS and Windows, when attempting to view saved passwords, it will be the operating system account password/PIN/biometrics/hardware key is requested (provided the master password is not set). This feature is hindered on Linux by bug 1527745..
• The picture-in-picture mode has been improved: detached video can now be toggled to fullscreen mode (and back) with a double click.
• There is now an option to work with a specific site as a desktop application (in a separate window without the browser interface, and linking can only occur within the current domain). The browser.ssb.enabled setting adds an "Install Website as App" option to the site menu (the three dots in the address bar).
• A "HTTPS-only" mode (dom.security.https_only_mode) has been added, in which all requests over HTTP are automatically made over HTTPS and blocked if access via HTTPS fails. Additionally, starting from Firefox 60, there is a more lenient setting security.mixed_content.upgrade_display_content, which does the same but only for passive content (images and media files).
• On systems using Wayland, hardware acceleration for VP9 video playback and other formats has been implemented (in addition to the support for H.264 acceleration that was introduced in On macOS 15, support for new screen and window sharing selection features has been implemented. Support for macOS 14 will be added later. ).
• The add-ons management interface now displays all domains., to which the extension has access (previously only a few of the first domains from the list were displayed).
• The about:welcome page has been completely redesigned.
• When opening new tabs, the width of the shadow around the address bar has been slightly reduced.
• The size of the bookmarks panel has been slightly increased to prevent touch screen users from missing it.
• WebRender is enabled by default on laptops running Windows with Intel graphics of at least Generation 9 (HD Graphics 510 and above) and a screen resolution of <= 1920×1200.
• Support has been implemented CSS4 system colors.
• JS: support for numberingSystem and calendar has been enabled in constructors Intl.NumberFormat, Intl.DateTimeFormat and Intl.RelativeTimeFormat.
• Support for AudioWorklet, allowing for complex sound processing in scenarios such as games or virtual reality. Additionally, this resolves the issue of missing audio in the Zoom web client.
• Parameter window.open() windowFeatures no longer allows hiding any browser window elements (tabbar, menubar, toolbar, personalbar) and serves only to indicate whether the page will be opened in a separate window. This feature was supported only in Firefox and IE and caused problems when restoring sessions.
• Attempts by web pages to navigate using an unknown protocol with location.href or <meta http-equiv="refresh"> no longer lead to the 'Unknown Address Type' page, but are silently blocked (as in Chromium). To open third-party applications, window.open() or should be used.
• Developer tools:
  • Debugger: elements of the 'Sources' panel received context menu item 'Add to blacklist'.
  • Debugger: 'Call Stack → Copy stack trace' now copies full links, not just file names.
  • Network Monitor: the width of the column adapts to the content when double-clicking on the column boundary.
  • Network Monitor: the menu item 'Copy → Copy as cURL' properties with the -globoff option, which suppresses globbing if the copied link contains square brackets.
  • Network Monitor: the 'Messages' tab for websocket requests has received a new 'Control' filter to show control frames.
  • Web Console: in multiline mode code fragments longer than five lines are truncated to five lines, preceded by a triangle icon and ending with an ellipsis. When clicked, they expand to show the full code, and when clicked again, they collapse.
  • Web Console: links to DOM elements displayed in the console, acquired via the context menu item 'Show in Inspector', which highlights the element on the HTML panel of the page inspector.
