For download there are three types of ISO images â server edition with console applications (725 MB), minimal build (377 MB) and a build with the MATE graphical environment (1.5 GB).

Simultaneously release of the Illumos distribution , which provides full support for the KVM hypervisor, the Crossbow virtual network stack, and the ZFS file system. The distribution can be used both for building highly scalable web systems and for creating storage systems.

- The ability to run an NFS server in an isolated zone has been added (enabled through the 'sharenfs' property). The creation of SMB shares in the zone has been simplified by setting the 'sharesmb' property;
- The overlay network implementation has been ported from SmartOS, which can be effectively used with virtual switches (etherstub) that connect multiple hosts;
