The distribution is built on a Debian package base and includes the latest release of the libraries (from the master branch), the composite server Weston, and pre-configured environments for working with Wayland such as KDE, GNOME, Enlightenment E21, and and . The choice of environment is made through the login manager menu, and a shell can be started from an already running environment in the form of a nested session. For loading there are two types of ISO images — an extended 2 GB version for developers and a standard 1.2 GB version for users.
The distribution includes the latest versions of the Clutter, SDL, GTK, Qt, EFL/Elementary, FreeGLUT, GLFW, KDE Frameworks, and Gstreamer libraries, compiled with Wayland support, as well as the component , which allows running normal X applications in an environment created with the Weston composite server. The distribution also includes Wayland client versions of the Gstreamer sound server, the mpv media player, the Calligra office suite, and KDE applications. For configuring udev and multiseat configuration parameters, where multiple users can work at the same desk with their own keyboards and mice (each user has their own independent cursor), a special graphical configurator is provided. Weston includes RDP support. The package includes the Mir display server and the utility for remotely launching Wayland-based applications.
