Biostar has announced the Racing B550GTA and Racing B550GTQ motherboards, made in ATX and Micro-ATX formats, respectively: the new products are designed to work with third-generation AMD Ryzen processors in Socket AM4.
The boards are based on the new AMD B550 system logic. Four slots are available for DDR4-1866/2133/2400/2667/2933/3200(OC) memory modules: up to 128 GB of RAM can be used in the system.
There are six SATA 3.0 ports for connecting storage drives. In addition, two M.2 connectors are provided for 2242/2260/2280 solid-state modules. The sound subsystem is based on the ALC1150 codec.
The Racing B550GTA model has a Realtek RTL8125 network controller that provides data transfer rates up to 2,5 Gbps. The equipment includes three PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, as well as one PCIe 4.0 / 3.0 x16 slot, PCIe 3.0 x16 slot and, surprisingly, regular PCI. The latter is extremely rare in modern consumer boards.
The Racing B550GTQ version is equipped with a Realtek RTL 8118AS Gigabit Ethernet network adapter, two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots, one PCIe 4.0/3.0 x16 slot, and one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
The boards have the same set of connectors on the interface panel: PS / 2 socket, DVI-D, DP and HDMI connectors, network cable socket, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A, USB 3.2 Gen1 (Γ4) ports , USB 2.0 (Γ2) and a set of audio jacks.
The cost of new Biostar products is not specified, but they should go on sale by the middle of next month.
