On May 20, Intel began official sales of the Intel Comet Lake-S processors introduced at the end of last month. Representatives of the K-series were supposed to enter the stores first: Core i9-10900K, i7-10700K and i5-10600K. However, none of these models is available in Russian retail yet. But on the other hand, the younger Core i5-10400 suddenly became available in our country, which will go on sale worldwide only on May 27 (for example, you can only pre-order them on Amazon and Newegg).
In Russia, Core i5-10400 processors today appeared in several online stores at once, including federal chain stores such as Online Trade or Regard, at a price of about 17 rubles, while the officially recommended cost of such processors is $000.
If we talk about the characteristics, then the Core i5-10400 is manufactured using the 14-nm process technology, has six cores and twelve threads, while its predecessors, for example, the popular Core i5-9400 did not support Hyper-Threading technology. The nominal value of the clock frequency is 2,9 GHz, and in turbo mode it rises to 4,3 GHz. The processor is designed for LGA 1200 motherboards, its L3 cache is 12 MB, and the heat dissipation level is 65 watts. The composition includes an Intel UHD Graphics 630 graphics core. DDR4-2666 RAM up to 128 GB is supported.
