On May 26, a new version of the C++ framework was released Qt 5.15 LTS.
This version is the last among Qt 5 versions before the release of Qt 6. Functions planned for removal in Qt 6 are marked as deprecated in the current release. Non-commercial support will be provided until the release of Qt 6, and commercial support will last for three years.

The migration of the graphics stack of Qt has begun to Qt Rendering Hardware Interface (RHI), which enables Qt Quick applications to run on top of Direct 3D, Metal (Apple's graphics API), Vulkan, and OpenGL. Qt RHI is expected to become a central part of Qt 6.
Full support for Qt Quick 3D — an API for embedding 3D content in Qt Quick-based applications with the ability to define 3D scenes in QML. First introduced in Qt 5.14, this release brings post-processing effects support, a new API for custom geometry, a quaternion-based shape rotation API, and support for ray divergence.
Qt Design Studio 1.5 with support for Qt Quick 3D, a revamped interface based on dockable widgets, enhanced 3D viewing, the ability to add annotations to elements, and a new diagram editor.
In Qt QML added 'required' properties for components, whose values must be specified by the component users, inline component specifications, a declarative way to define types, and a merge operator ?? for assigning values in case of a NULL value on the left. Also improved the warnings of the qmllint utility, added a qmlformat utility for style guidelines compliance checking in QML, and QML in the microcontroller package is now compatible with QML for Qt 5.15.
In Qt Quick added support for color spaces for Image elements, added a PathText element in Qt Quick Shapes. The pointer handler now has a cursorShape property to set the mouse cursor shape, and for TableView, a HeaderView object was added for vertical and horizontal table headers.
Improved client-side decoration (CSD) support.
Qt Lottie, the Adobe Effects animation integration module is now fully supported.
Qt WebEngine updated to Chromium 80.
The Qt 3D improved profiling and debugging support.
Qt Multimedia supports rendering on multiple surfaces. Image scaling and conversion procedures in Qt GUI are now multithreaded in many cases.
Qt Network supports customizable timeouts and TLS 1.3 session tickets.
QRunnable and QThreadPool can work together with std::function, a cross-platform method for moving to the trash has been added in QFile::moveToTrash().
Support for the native file selection dialog has been added in Android.
