A new version of the program has been released Natron, designed for compositing visual effects with video for film production (the closest commercial alternatives to the project are The Foundry Nuke and Blackmagic Fusion).
Over the past two years since the previous release, the project was nearly shelved due to a conflict between the main developers. However, work has resumed. The new version mainly includes fixes and minor improvements, with few significant innovations.
The main project forum moved in 2019 to its own section on the Pixls platform.
