A new version of luastatus has been released, a universal data generator for status panels that supports i3bar, dwm, lemonbar, and more. The program is written in C and is distributed under the GNU LGPL v3 license.
Most data generators for tiling WM status panels either update information based on a timer (like conky) or require a signal for redrawing (like i3status). In contrast, the panels within desktop environments typically refresh information instantly and automatically, just like luastatus.
luastatus allows users to define the logic for processing data from plugins written in C and provided with luastatus, using widgets written in Lua. Additionally, widgets can handle events, such as clicks on the status panel.

The inotify and udev plugins have added a function called "push_timeout()" that can be invoked by widgets.
The alsa plugin has added support for the timeout option.
The fs plugin now supports creating a file list using glob expressions (the "globs" option); this can be used, for example, to display a list of mounted drives and the usage of their file systems.
The battery-linux plugin has undergone many changes: it now uses udev instead of timer, allowing it to react to changes in charging status "instantly"; support for the "use_energy_full_design" option has been added; and more.
The xkb plugin has added support for monitoring the status of LED indicators (such as "Caps Lock" and "Num Lock").
Build scripts have been added to the repository for Debian and its derived distributions.
