The Gentoo project has released a build for mobile devices shipped with Android

Gentoo Project presented a new 64-bit build "Gentoo on Android", aimed at providing a Gentoo working environment for mobile devices based on the Android platform. The build is installed inside the existing Android operating system (Gentoo stage3 is installed in a separate directory /data/gentoo64 and uses the Android system kernel).

Root access to the Android firmware of the device is required for installation. The environment is launched with the command /data/gentoo64/startprefix, which creates the necessary symbolic links (/bin, /usr/bin, etc., not overlapping with the Android platform, whose system components are located in the /system directory). It includes gcc 10.1.0, binutils 2.34, and glibc 2.31. The installation of necessary programs is done using the standard portage system.
