The Mozilla VPN service has officially launched.

Mozilla has gone live service has been added to the page that opens when starting a private session. The service operates with approximately 280 servers from a Swedish VPN provider Mullvad, located in more than 30 countries. Mullvad has committed to recommendations Mozilla's privacy compliance, not tracking network requests and not storing logging any forms of user activity.

The service can be useful when working on untrustworthy networks, for example, when connecting through public Wi-Fi hotspots, or when one wishes to hide their real IP address, such as to obscure it from websites and ad networks that tailor content based on the visitor's location.
