Switching between tabs using swiping is one of the most convenient ways to navigate from one webpage to another in a mobile browser. While this feature has been available in Google Chrome for quite some time, the mobile version of Firefox still lacks this tool. However, it is now known that developers at Mozilla will add the functionality to switch between tabs by swiping.
Switching between tabs using swiping is generally most effective in a mobile browser because there is no top panel displaying all the open webpages. This is particularly handy when you don't need to swipe through many tabs to get to the one you want. If you have a large number of tabs open in your browser, it will be easier to switch between them by invoking a full-screen view showing all the pages.
The new feature has been added to the latest version of Firefox Nightly, which is already available for download in the Play Market digital content store. Sources indicate that the first build of the browser containing the code for this feature was released on July 23. To switch between tabs using swiping, no specific settings need to be made or the feature activated separately, as it is enabled by default. Simply swipe left or right on the address bar to move to one of the adjacent tabs.
Currently, this new feature is only available in the Android version of Firefox Nightly; it is unknown when it will appear in the stable version of the browser.
