QNAP Systems has announced the QXP-10G2U3A expansion card, designed for use in personal computers, workstations, and network-attached storage (NAS) devices.
The new product allows the system to be equipped with two USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports. This interface provides a bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps.
The card is built on the ASMedia ASM3142 controller. A PCIe Gen2 x2 slot is required for installation. It is stated to be compatible with Microsoft Windows 8.x/10, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, as well as QTS 4.3.6 and later.
The QXP-10G2U3A solution has a low-profile form factor: dimensions are 89.65 × 68.9 × 14 mm. The package includes both full-size and low-profile mounting brackets, allowing the expansion card to be used in various types of cases.
Among other features, support for the USB Attached SCSI Protocol (UASP) is mentioned, which is designed to increase data transfer speeds with connected drives.
There is currently no information on the estimated price of the QXP-10G2U3A card.
