Available Firefox 80.

• You can now assign Firefox as the default PDF viewer.
• Significantly accelerated the loading and processing of the list of malicious and problematic add-ons. This feature will be ported to the ESR release since maintaining two different formats of the 'blacklist' is cumbersome, and the developers were unable to include the change in the 78th release (on which the current ESR branch is based) due to a last-minute bug.
• Automatic backup creation of saved logins/passwords has been added. If Firefox detects that logins.json is corrupted, the file will be restored from the backup.
• A new setting, security.warn_submit_secure_to_insecure, has been added to disable the warning, displayed when trying to submit data via a form over an insecure connection from a page opened over HTTPS.
• More experimental settings have been added (to show them, enable browser.preferences.experimental).
• The validity period of TLS certificates issued on or after September 1, 2020, cannot exceed 13 months, and certificates issued before that date cannot exceed 825 days (2 years and 3 months). Attempting to open a site using a certificate with a longer validity period will result in an error. Over the past few years, the maximum validity period of certificates has been consistently reduced under pressure from browser makers, from 8 years to 5, and then to 3 years. In 2019, certificate authorities managed to maintain the previous validity period (3 years), but at the beginning of 2020, Apple ignored the CA/Browser Forum and unilaterally introduced a new restriction, after which both Google and Mozilla joined in.
• The number of animations has been reduced for users who have disabled animations in their desktop environment settings. For example, instead of a page loading animation, a sand timer will be displayed.
• Fixed a bug that added an extra 'http' prefix in the address copied from the address bar.
• Various bugs and crashes that occurred while using screen readers have been fixed (for example, SVG titles and label names and descriptions can now be read aloud).
