A new version of the library has been released libheif, designed for encoding and decoding images in HEIF and AVIF formats.
Key Changes:
- integration rav1e, providing faster encoding compared to AOM;
- support for AVIF with 10/12-bit depth;
- AVIF support in the gdk-pixbuf loader (included with the library);
- support for NCLX color profiles;
- encoding HEIF and AVIF with chroma 4:2:2 and 4:4:4 (with HDR support in the case of AVIF).
