After more than two years of hiatus, a new version of the widely known system resource monitor and process manager htop has been released. This is a very popular alternative to the top utility that requires little setup and is more user-friendly in its default configuration.
The project was almost abandoned after the author and main developer of htop stepped away. The community took matters into its own hands and, after forking the project, released a new version containing numerous fixes and improvements.
