Sharp Corporation has expanded its smartphone lineup by announcing an intriguing new model – the Aquos Zero 5G Basic: this is one of the first commercial devices running on the Android 11 operating system.
The device is equipped with a 6.4-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2340 × 1080 pixels. The panel features an extremely high refresh rate of 240 Hz. A fingerprint scanner is embedded directly in the screen area.
The computing workload is handled by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor, which features eight Kryo 475 cores with clock speeds of up to 2.4 GHz and an Adreno 620 graphics accelerator. The integrated X52 modem supports fifth-generation cellular networks (5G).
The smartphone boasts a 16.3-megapixel front camera, located within a small notch in the screen. The triple rear camera combines a 48-megapixel unit with a maximum aperture of f/1.8, a module with a 13.1-megapixel sensor and wide-angle optics (125 degrees), and an 8-megapixel telephoto unit with a maximum aperture of f/2.4.
The device includes Wi-Fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 5.1 adapters, an NFC controller, and a USB Type-C port. IP65/68 certification ensures protection against moisture. Dimensions are 161 × 75 × 9 mm, with a weight of 182 g. Power is supplied by a 4050 mAh battery.
The new model will be available in versions with 6 and 8 GB of RAM, equipped with storage options of 64 and 128 GB, respectively. The price has not been disclosed.
