GNOME 3.38

A new version of the GNOME desktop environment has been released, codenamed 'Orbis' (in honor of the organizers of the online edition of the GUADEC conference).

Changes:

• Application GNOME Tour, designed to help new users get accustomed to the environment. Notably, the application is written in Rust.

• Visually revamped applications for: audio recording, screenshots, clock settings.

• Now you can directly modify the XML files of virtual machines from within Boxes.

• The frequently used applications tab has been removed from the main menu in favor of a single, customizable application menu – now users can rearrange icons as they wish.

• The internal structure of the screen capture has been redesigned. It now uses Pipewire and kernel API to reduce resource usage.

• GNOME Shell now supports multiple monitors with different refresh rates.

• New icons for some applications. The terminal's color scheme has also been changed.
