Oracle Corporation on the implementation of a continuous delivery model for Solaris, according to which new features and fresh package versions will appear in the Solaris 11.4 branch as part of monthly updates in the foreseeable future, without the formation of a new significant release Solaris 11.5.
The proposed model, which implies delivering new functionality in frequently released minor versions, will accelerate the introduction of new features to users and smooth the transition between versions. Support for Oracle Solaris 11 will be provided at least until 2034.
