Microsoft is actively promoting its new Edge browser, built on the Chromium engine. It has already been released for many popular platforms aside from Windows, including Android, macOS, and iOS. Now Microsoft has announced that the developer preview version of the browser will also be available on Linux in October.
The Edge version for Linux will be almost identical to the Windows version. It will have all the same features and a similar interface. The browser can be downloaded from the Edge Insider site. Additionally, it will be available in the Linux package manager. It's worth noting that Microsoft will face challenges marketing its browser on this new platform, as Linux users tend to prefer solutions like Brave and Mozilla Firefox, which are open source.
However, Microsoft Edge based on Chromium also offers numerous advantages. It provides fairly flexible privacy settings that give users full control over what information to share with websites, as well as a plethora of convenient features like 'Collections' and much more.
