In the new release:
- 60% of packages have been updated, including new versions of Python 3.8.5, ICU 67.1, Boost 1.73.0, Systemd 246, Git 2.28.0, LLVM/Clang 10 (10.0.1), OpenCV 4.4.0, Gstreamer 1.18.0, Poppler 20.9.0, Mesa 20.1.8, NetworkManager 1.26.2, Perl 5.30.3, Xorg-server 1.20.9, Linux kernel 5.7.19. The user environment has been updated to versions , KDE Frameworks 5.74.0 and KDE Plasma 5.19.5. The Qt library has been updated to version 5.15.1.
- Work continues on translating the Calamares installer into modules written using QML. The localization setup module has been rewritten to include location selection on the map. The keyboard settings module has been improved.
- Included in the package are a program for visually comparing file differences Kdiff3 and the two-factor authentication manager Keysmith.
- The Midna theme has been redesigned, switched from QtCurve to using an SVG engine for defining application styles. A new boot splash design has been proposed. Custom light and dark icon themes have been added.
- In IsoWriter, the interface for writing ISO files to USB drives, support has been added for verifying the integrity of written images.
- Instead of the Calligra office suite, LibreOffice 6.2 has been included, compiled with VCL plugins kf5 and Qt5, allowing the use of native KDE and Qt dialogs, buttons, window and widget borders.
- A welcome screen for system login Croeso has been added, providing essential settings that may need to be changed after installation, as well as allowing installation of applications and displaying information about the distribution and system.
- XFS is the default file system, with integrity checking (CRC) enabled and a separate btree index for free inodes (finobt).
- An option for verifying downloaded ISO files through digital signatures has been added.
