Recently, CD Projekt RED found itself at the center of yet another scandal. Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier , reported that the Cyberpunk 2077 team is working six days a week, trying to make the scheduled release date. The studio didn’t remain silent and issued a statement on this matter. One of CDPR's representatives has now suggested that some individuals are intentionally portraying the company in a negative light to find a reason for their ideological statements.
This statement was made by the lead technical designer of CD Projekt RED, Łukasz Szczepankowski. It was first highlighted by the publication . The developer published his message as a response by The Astronauts studio head Adrian Chmielarz. He defended CDPR and explained that the issue of crunch is much deeper and more complex than it seems.
Łukasz Szczepankowski stated: "I can only confirm what Adrian Chmielarz wrote. Even when discussing the situations he mentions, in my experience, all developers in any position are united on such issues. I must disappoint you. The managers responsible for game production are not the infamous capitalist exploiters who smoke cigars, count money, and covertly watch over oppressed developers (however picturesque that might sound)."
"CDPR has been sharing its profits for a long time, [always] on time and without unnecessary statements. Maybe it's a case of laughing through tears. But seriously, I get the impression that some individuals want to make us look bad in order to find a reason for their ideological statements," concluded Szczepankowski.
