GDB 10.1 Released

GDB is a source code debugger for Ada, C, C++, Fortran, Go, Rust, and many other programming languages. GDB supports debugging on over a dozen different architectures and can run on the most popular software platforms (GNU/Linux, Unix, and Microsoft Windows).

GDB 10.1 includes the following changes and improvements:

  • Support for debugging BPF (bpf-unknown-none)

  • GDBserver now supports the following platforms:

    • ARC GNU/Linux
    • RISC-V GNU/Linux
  • Support for multi-target debugging (experimental)

  • Support for debuginfod, an HTTP server for distributing ELF/DWARF debugging information

  • Support for debugging 32-bit Windows programs using 64-bit Windows GDB

  • Support for building GDB with GNU Guile 3.0 and 2.2

  • Improved performance at startup by using multithreading during symbol table loading

  • Various improvements to the Python and Guile API

  • Various fixes and enhancements to the TUI mode
