The release of the cross-platform visual graph editor Qt Visual Graph Editor 0.6.1 has taken place.
This version features closer integration with the GraphViz package, specifically:
- Graphs in DOT format are loaded directly through dot, allowing for much more efficient parsing.
- Calling GraphViz layout engines directly from the application's graphical interface, with instant preview of results.
Support for the OGDF library has also been removed from the application due to its instability, which caused application crashes (however, QVGE can still be built with OGDF support from source, as before).
Future plans include continuing integration with GraphViz, improvements in text editing within nodes, and support for more graphic formats.
