• The JS engine SpiderMonkey received a major update code-named Warp, resulting in improved security, performance (up to 15% increase), page responsiveness (up to 12%), and reduced memory usage (by 8%). For instance, loading Google Docs became approximately 20% faster.
• The "HTTPS-only" mode is considered quite ready now (it accounts for addresses within the local network, where using HTTPS is often impossible, and upon an unsuccessful attempt to access via HTTPS, it prompts the user to switch to HTTP). This mode can be enabled in the graphical settings interface. Websites that do not support HTTPS can be added to an exceptions list (by clicking the lock icon in the address bar).

• The second major update of the address bar:
  • Icons of search engines are displayed immediately, before entering the query.
  • Clicking on the search engine icon no longer leads to an immediate search of the entered text, but only selects that search engine, (so the user can choose another search engine, see suggestions, refine the query). The old behavior is available via Shift + Left Click.
  • When entering the address of any of the available search engines, the user will be prompted to make it the current one..
  • Icons for searching bookmarks, open tabs, and history have been added.
• The PDF viewer has gained support for AcroForm, allowing forms in PDF documents to be filled out, printed, and saved.
• HTTP authentication windows no longer block the browser interface (they are now tied to the tab).
• The context menu "Print selection" has been added.
• A setting has been added to disable media control from the keyboard/headset.
• Firefox will automatically delete cookies from sites that have been caught tracking the user if the user has not interacted with the site for the past 30 days.
• The ability to hide the "Top sites" title on the new tab page (browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.hideTopSitesTitle) has been added, as well as the option to hide sponsored sites from the top (browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.showSponsoredTopSites).
• The interface for screen sharing has been improved, making it easier for users to understand which devices are being shared.
• The value of the setting security.tls.version.enable-deprecated has been reset (set to true when a user encounters a site using TLS 1.0/1.1 and agrees to enable support for these algorithms; developers want to evaluate through telemetry how many such users there are to decide whether it's time to remove support for outdated encryption algorithms).
• A hosts parser written in Rust has been added. Domains found in this file will not resolve using DNS-over-HTTPS.
• Mozilla VPN advertising has been added to the about:protections page (in regions where this service is available).
• Users from India with English locales will receive Pocket recommendations on new tab pages.
• Screen readers now correctly recognize paragraphs in Google Docs and no longer treat punctuation marks as part of words in word-by-word reading mode. Keyboard arrows now function correctly after switching to the picture-in-picture window using Alt+Tab.
• On touchscreen devices (Windows) and touchpads (macOS), pinch-to-zoom now behaves as it does in Chromium and Safari (only the current area is zoomed, not the entire page).
• Performance has been optimized in the Rosetta 2 emulator on the latest Apple computers running macOS Big Sur with ARM processors.
• Energy consumption has been significantly reduced on macOS when restoring a session in a minimized browser window.
• The gradual enabling of WebRender for Windows 7 and 8 users, as well as for macOS 10.12 - 10.15 users, has begun.
• HTML/XML:
  • Links of type now support the crossorigin attribute.
  • All MathML elements have been provided with support for the displaystyle attribute.
• CSS:
  • :-moz-any() is now a reference to :where().
  • Support added canonical CSS gradients.

• Developer tools:
  • The Inspector has been updated with a 'scrollable' icon.
