Gregory Kurtzer, the founder of the CentOS project, created a new project for the 'resurrection' of CentOS — Rocky Linux. For this purpose, the domain rockylinux.org was registered. rockylinux.org and created a repository on GitHub.
Currently, Rocky Linux is in the planning stage and forming a team of developers. Kurtzer stated that Rocky Linux will be a classic CentOS — '100% bug-for-bug compatible with Red Hat Enterprise Linux' and its development will be carried out by the community.
