GTK 4.0 Release

On December 16, the release of the GTK 4.0 graphical toolkit took place.

The new release includes new widgets, support for an integrated media player, enhancements for GPU acceleration, and improved support for other operating systems.

What's new:

• Constraint-based layout: a layout method where the size of elements depends on the boundaries and sizes of others
• Data exchange API are no longer a copy of the same APIs from X11, but are designed to be closer to the Wayland API
• Redesigned methods for creating custom widgets
• Objects for shaders
• Scalable lists
• Integrated media player

Developers stated that despite the release of the fourth branch of the toolkit, the third will continue to evolve and be supported, however, the second branch has "reached the end of its life," with one more minor release planned, after which support for the second branch will conclude.
