Quietly and unobtrusively, after 3.5 years of development, the first major release of Buttplug took place – a comprehensive solution for developing software for remote control of intimate devices, supporting various connection methods: Bluetooth, USB, and serial ports using programming languages Rust, C#, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
Starting with this version, the C# and JavaScript implementations of Buttplug are being discarded in favor of their respective libraries, which interact with the sole remaining implementation in Rust via FFI, allowing the development of libraries for Python, C++, JVM-based languages, and Unreal Engine.
Buttplug supports control from keyboards, joysticks, and virtual reality controllers, as well as synchronization with movies through plugins for VLC and Kodi.
