The release of Q4OS 3.14 has taken place, based on the Debian package base and supplied with KDE Plasma 5 and Trinity desktops. The distribution is positioned as resource-efficient and offers a classic desktop layout. It includes several proprietary applications, including 'Desktop profiler' for quick installation of thematic software packages, 'Setup utility' for installing third-party applications, 'Welcome Screen' for simplifying initial setup, and scripts for alternative environments like LXQT, Xfce, and LXDE. The size of the boot image is 731 MB (x86_64).
In the new release, the package base has been synced with Debian 10.8. Automatic installation of VirtualBox additions for guest systems has been ensured. A script for setting the default browser for KDE Plasma and Trinity desktops has been added. A utility for connecting to the Google Chrome repository has been introduced. The Calamares installer functionality has been improved.
