Just as recently there was a fashion and a high demand for DevOps engineers, now recruiters of the largest companies are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer. It is enough to go to the websites of the largest companies, leaders of the IT market, to be convinced of this. Apple, Google, Booking, Amazon.
Site Reliability Engineering is the ticket to the open world of IT. Any country, any IT company.
From Apple to Google
For three days, you will immerse yourself in the theory and practice of SRE: you will develop and maintain a site consisting of several microservices.
Learn how to properly allocate limited resources to ensure the speed, resiliency and availability of the site for maximum reliability, enough to keep users happy.
What will be on the course:
Build
Formulate SLO, SLI, SLA indicators for a site consisting of several
microservices, develop the architecture and infrastructure that will provide them,
build, test and deploy the site, set up monitoring and alerting.
Break
Consider internal and external SLO deterioration factors: developer errors, infrastructure failures, influx of visitors, DoS attacks. Understand resiliency, error budget, testing practices, interrupt management, and operating
load.
Repair
Organize the work of the accident elimination team in the shortest possible time: connecting colleagues, notifying stakeholders (stakeholders), setting priorities. Imitation of real conditions: restoration of service performance under extremely limited time conditions.
To study
Understand the approach to the site from the point of view of SRE. Analyze incidents (causes of occurrence, course of elimination). Make a decision on their further prevention: improve monitoring, change the architecture, approach to development and operation, regulations. Automate processes.
You will be taught by practical speakers:
The intensive will take place in December 2020, namely on December 11-13. Every day we start at 10:00, check connection at 9:45. According to the schedule, classes run until 19:00 with a break for lunch.
