On April 15, I received spam from the RU Center company with the heading: “Personal manager service as a gift.”

From April 15 to May 15, 2020, RU‑CENTER has a promotion under which we have activated the service for you "Personal manager" free for one month.
 
The service allows you to contact the personal service department directly, bypassing the general support service. Contacts for appeals are available in the section "For clients - Agreement - Personal manager".
 
You may opt out of participating in the promotion by sending [email protected] cancellation notice and your contract number. Upon the expiration of the validity period of the connected service, the standard procedure for its renewal will come into force - in accordance with the tariffs specified in Appendix 2 to the Service Agreement. You can unsubscribe from the renewal of the service in the section "For clients" → "Services" → "Renewal of services" not later than 8 calendar days before the expiration of the service.

To be honest, I did not read the full text of this message then - I have enough Nigerians. I forgot about this letter. Then I needed to extend the Secondary M service, for which the requested 300 rubles were transferred to RU-Center.

On May 8, I received a letter with the heading "Extend the "Personal Manager" service." Again missed this spam without reading.

On May 12, this letter came again, and then I got worried - what kind of service was this that I had not signed up for.

I was not worried in vain - it turned out that the amount for the renewal of "Secondary M" was never written off, the service was not extended, and now it will not be possible to extend it, since only 201 rubles are available:

Having wandered through the menu, I still manage to find an interface where you can turn off auto-renewal.

We uncheck the box, “Apply” ... and nothing happens, on the balance sheet, as it was 201r, it remains. We are waiting for 10 minutes (suddenly some pending actions), but the balance still does not change.

Here we are already starting to write to technical support. They answered, I have to admit, quickly. They refused to delete the service, they said, "turn off auto-renewal, the service will be canceled automatically." To the next letter that this does not work, the answer is “Refunds occur within a few minutes after the refusal to renew.”

By this moment, fortunately, the blocked amount from this service has really returned to the general balance.

Then there was a correspondence, with an attempt to get a clear answer, on what basis a paid service was added without my consent. I received an amazing response: “The connection to the “Personal Manager” service as part of the promotion of the same name was carried out in accordance with the rules of this promotion.”

To the question, on the basis of which clause of the Agreement - "The possibility of holding shares is provided for in clause 4.9 of the Agreement."

Look at the text of the agreement:

4.9. The Contractor has the right to conduct temporary promotions, including promotions to reduce the cost of services provided. The procedure for conducting such promotions and the procedure for notifying the Customer are determined by the Rules for conducting the relevant promotions published on the Contractor's web server.

That is, RU-Center believes that if you have the possibility of holding promotions in your contract, then it can quietly add a paid service to you. And you should see it and refuse in time. Brilliant. It is very reminiscent of a joke about a car service and the “Rental” point.

I suspect that this "promotion" is not added to everyone, but only for accounts for a legal entity. It didn't happen on the other account. But in any case, if you are a client of RU-Center, you better check it out.
