Let's talk about eternal pain - historical data repositories. Many people have experienced performance problems caused by typical reasons: slow disk speeds, insufficiently good DBMS tuning, Zabbix internal processes that delete old data, etc. But not always everything comes down to standard solutions.
Out of the box, two types of backend are available in Zabbix: MySQL and PostgreSQL. Not so long ago, they added support for noSQL storage - Elasticsearch. At the same time, there are many other solutions on the market that can solve the problem of storing and returning historical data well, for example, ClickHouse, TimescaleDB, Cassandra.
At the meetup, we will discuss the experience of implementing storages other than MySQL and Postgresql, talk about their pros and cons, and share performance results.
