On October 29-30, that is, tomorrow, a conference will be held Devoops 2019. These are two days of reports about CloudNative, cloud technologies, observability and monitoring, configuration management and security, and so on.

Immediately after it, on October 31 - November 1, a conference will be held C++ Russia 2019 Piter. It's another two days of hardcore tech talks on C++: concurrency, performance, architecture, infrastructure, and tricky odd jobs.

Of the thirty reports at each of the conferences, you can watch the reports of the first day on YouTube completely free of charge, held in the first hall - 6 pieces. In the same online broadcast there will be online interviews between reports.

Broadcast start:

  • DevOops: Oct 29 at 9:45 am BST
  • C++ Russia: October 31, 9:45 am Moscow time.

After a short 15-minute introduction, you will be able to watch the opening together with everyone, which will smoothly turn into viewing reports, and will end closer and closer to 7 pm. It is not necessary to open the link exactly at 9:45 - the link will work all day, so you can open it only on the most important reports.

Link to the broadcast site is under the cut. There is also a brief description of the reports and a discussion of a couple of things that will not be on the broadcast (even if you bought an online ticket).

What will not be in the broadcast

Some things won't get broadcast. Some things require you to be physically at the conference venue so that you can conveniently communicate, exchange something, and so on. Let's take a few examples.

Discussion zones

After each report, the speaker goes to a dedicated discussion area, where you can chat with him and ask your questions. Formally, this can be done during a break between reports. Although the speakers are not required, they usually stay much longer - for example, for the duration of the next report. Sometimes it makes sense to skip a report from the main program (if you bought a ticket, you will still have notes after filling out the feedback) and spend it on focused communication with an important expert.

Exhibition area

In addition to the discussion areas during the break, you can visit the exhibition area. There are several main activities:

  • The exhibition is a zone of stands of the conference partner companies. You can learn about interesting projects, technologies and work in a team of IT industry leaders. This is the place where you and the company can find each other. Please note that there will be representatives of companies with whom you do not meet face to face live every day.
  • Demo Stage is a dedicated stage for sponsors and partners, where companies make presentations, share their practical experience and sum up the results of the draws. The program can be viewed on the site, if you go to the section with the program (DevOops ΠΈ C++ Russia respectively) and set the "Demo Stage" switch to the appropriate position.

BOF sessions

BOF is now a traditional format at our conferences. Something like a round table or discussion group in which everyone can take part. This format historically goes back to the first informal Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) discussion groups. There is no division into speaker and participant: everyone participates equally.

Currently scheduled two themes for DevOops: "When will K8s die?" ΠΈ "Fighting Complexity". For C++ Russia, everything is a little more complicated - it will one BOF Go Under the Microscope C++: Horror and Beauty, and one panel discussion with members of the Language Standardization Committee.

The BOF on K8s and the panel session with the C++ Committee are held in English only, for English-speaking participants.

"Own game" with Baruch Sadogursky, a party with beer and music

In parallel with the BOFs, a party kicks off at the end of the first day of both conferences. Drinks, snacks, music - everything at once. You can chat in an informal setting and discuss everything in the world. You can move from the bof to the party. You can move from a party to a bof.
