Voice mail
Users are complaining about the way voicemail is played in the new app. In the next release, we plan to return to the previous playback method, which allows you to listen to a voice message without dialing the system voicemail number.
Address book access
The app currently needs access to the device's contact list in order to merge the 3CX corporate address book, the user's 3CX personal contacts (extension) and the device's own address book. Therefore, now every time when accessing the address book of the application, a request appears to access the contacts of the device, even if the user did not allow it in the past. However, please note that the app never transfers contacts from your device to the 3CX system.
But some users still do not want to mix personal contacts from the phone and work contacts downloaded from 3CX. In the next release, we will disable the app's access to the device's address book by default. If the user, on the contrary, wants to merge contacts, he will independently open access to them in the permission settings of the 3CX application.
Displaying groups
The presence screen no longer displays user organization groups. This is done to unload the interface, since the same users can be displayed in different groups (after all, a user can be a member of several groups at the same time). We plan to keep this change.
Receiving PUSH notifications
The "Logout - Ignore PUSH" option that was in the old app has been removed. Instead, there are more convenient ways to manage PUSH notifications in different statuses.
You can specify whether or not to receive PUSH notifications in a particular status. Below is how this is done for the "Do Not Disturb" status. It is enough to set up the receipt of PUSH for each status.
The PBX administrator can also configure the user to receive PUSH in the 3CX management interface, and group editing operations are available.
Recall that if the user has a fixed work schedule, it is better to set up automatic status switching. The schedule (working hours) is set by the PBX administrator. You can use the organization's General Business Hours, or you can use the user's individual business hours. More about this in
Silent mode
You can turn on silent app mode regardless of status if you want to be notified of calls and messages without making too much noise. The mode is activated by long pressing the 3CX icon on the Android desktop.
Notifications in Android 10
In Android 10, an incoming call appears as a notification on the unlock screen. This is implemented in the style of other Android 10 notifications. Compare notifications on Android 9 and Android 10.
Some Android 10 users are reporting that the call is heard and the call notification is not popping up. In this case, it is recommended to uninstall and reinstall the application. In the next release, we will make improvements to reliably display notifications.
Autoload on device startup
In different devices, unfortunately, the 3CX application behaves differently, depending on how Android was rebooted - manually or abnormally (for example, when it freezes). We tested several devices and found that the application starts correctly on them after restarting the phone.

Switching or deactivating SIP accounts
The interface for managing (switching, disconnecting) SIP accounts has changed in the new application. In the top left menu:
- Click on your profile icon (1)
- Tap and hold on the current account to choose an action: Deactivate, Change, or Delete
- Click on another account to switch to it (2)
- Click Add Account and scan the QR code (from email or 3CX web client) to add a new SIP account to the app.
PUSH notifications not coming to 3CX for Android
After updating 3CX to v16 Update 3 and updating the Android app, some users stopped receiving PUSH call notifications on their phones. We have noticed this issue on 3CX installations that use their own account for a PUSH account.
In this case, it is recommended to switch to the built-in 3CX account. To do this, simply click on the "User Account" line, then remove your PUSH settings from the 3CX interface, click OK and restart the server.
After that, check the change of PUSH notification settings in the interface.
Now you should re-auto-configure 3CX applications for users who are having problems receiving PUSH.
