Updating access to the corporate network. New ExtremeSwitching X435 Gigabit Switches

In our previous article “ExtremeSwitching X465 Switches. Universal gigabit and multigigabit" we talked about the switches of the X465 series, which are positioned, among other things, as access switches to the premium segment. In the same article, we want to introduce you to a new line of access switches for the economy segment - ExtremeSwitching X435. The new series of switches is an update to the Summit X430 line, and an alternative to the ExtremeSwitching 210 running FastPath OS. The X435, like all older models, runs on the ExtremeXOS operating system.

ExtremeSwitching X435 are Layer 2 non-stackable switches with static routing support. There are 5 models in the line: three 8-port and two 24-port Gigabit Ethernet models with SFP uplinks up to 4×1/2,5 Gbps. All models, except for the 24-port PoE-enabled, are “fanless”, which ensures silent operation and can be installed in noise-sensitive environments such as offices, hotels, educational institutions, shops, shopping centers, etc.

ExtremeSwitching X435 PoE models support "Fast", and "Perpetual-PoE", and can deliver up to 30W per port according to the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard. This allows you to power a wide range of different devices, ranging from wireless WiFi5 / WiFi6 APs, PoS terminals, modern LED lights, to IP cameras with rotary zoom or low-power IoT devices. EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) technology is supported on all access ports.

In addition to the above, PoE is used to power the X435-8P-2T-W model, which does not have a built-in power supply. At the same time, the X435-8P-2T-W (depending on the available budget) can provide Pass-Through PoE up to 100W. In general, this can significantly reduce both operating and capital costs by simplifying and speeding up installation, as well as eliminating the need for laying additional power lines.
