Introducing 3CX 16 Update 3 Alpha - Advanced DNS and Mobile Client Reconnection

Although it is August, we do not relax and continue to prepare for the new business season. Meet 3CX v16 Update 3 Alpha! This release adds automatic configuration of SIP trunks based on obtaining information from DNS, automatic reconnection of mobile clients for Android ΠΈ iOS, audio recognition, and dragging attachments to the web client chat window.

The new release includes the following features:

New DNS Options for SIP Trunks - The "Auto Discovery" option allows you to automatically detect the transport type (UDP, TCP, TLS) and trunk protocol type (IPv4 or IPv6). This is a significant update to 3CX SIP trunking technology. Share your feedback on how well auto-detection works.

3CX App Auto Reconnect (Server Side Support) – The Android Beta app and the yet-to-be-released iOS app can automatically reconnect when the connection is down, for example when the user moves from WiFi to 3G/4G network. Reconnection can also be used in large corporate networks where user roaming is used. As a rule, if roaming is necessary, it is recommended to use expensive multi-cell DECT systems or special expensive access points with a controller and certification WiFi Voice Enterprise. However, due to the software implementation of reconnection at the application level, these requirements are eliminated. True, there remains the need to prioritize voice traffic, but try enabling OPUS codec support - it is quite possible that everything will work "and so".

Built-in Live Chat and Talk Widget Code Generator - Under Options > WordPress/Website Integration, you can now specify your desired options for the Live Chat and Talk widget and generate a ready-made block of code for your website. By the way, in the near future we will present interesting novelties related to the integration of our telephony technologies into various third-party applications.

3CX App Download Icons – Google Play and App Store icons have been added to the 3CX Web Client interface to quickly download apps for iOS and Android. It's just convenient.
3CX bridges (Bridges) have been moved to the SIP trunks section - now configuring trunks between different PBXs (3CX Bridges), SIP trunks, VoIP gateways and SBC connections is done in one section.

Support for Intelbras TIP 120 and TIP 125 IP phones has also been added.

Release testing

To test all the features of this release, install the latest beta versions of 3CX applications.
