On the eighteenth of September last year, Belarusians were delighted with an unexpected
6. Internet Service Providers are required to:
...
from January 1, 2020, when providing services for placing information systems and (or) information resources on the Internet, address using technology that provides full support for Internet protocols versions 4 and 6 by network devices;
...
That is, from January 1, all sites hosted in Belarus must be able to be addressed via IPv6.
And, thus, Belarus became the first country in which IPv6 became enshrined in law.
In the news, slogans about the next technological breakthrough sounded amicably, but ... let's see how successful the administrative and administrative implementation of IPv6 turned out to be.
To begin with, let's examine the "general civilian" resources. Unfortunately, a list of all domains in the BY zone was not publicly available, so we will make several representative samples and check the sites for AAAA records.
The first list is based on popular resources on
Total domains: 2461
AAAA-recorded: 773
Total: 31.4%
An alternative "general" sample was made on the basis of logs taken in a couple of hours from the DNS servers of one regional provider.
Total domains: 14280
AAAA-recorded: 3924
Total: 27.47%
It should be noted here that not all sites in the BY zone are required to be hosted in Belarus.
In accordance with Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated February 01.02.2010, 60 No. 29.04.2010 "On measures to improve the use of the national segment of the Internet" and Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated April 644, XNUMX No. XNUMX "On some issues of improving the use of the national segment of the global computer network Internet" information networks, systems and resources of the national segment of the Internet, located on the territory of the Republic of Belarus are subject to
Therefore, the result was very surprising, in these lists I expected to see no more than 10% of the resources with AAAA records, but it turned out that the average site owners turned out to be quite conscious.
Further analyzes will be more precise. And the resources in these analyzes are either state structures, or fall under Decree 60 and Decree 644, that is, they must be located in the Republic of Belarus, and can take advantage of the possibilities of Decree 350.
The first one is based on
Total domains: 159
AAAA-recorded: 35
Total: 22%
Unexpectedly, but providers and hosters turned out to be more irresponsible than the average Belarusian. And even those 22 percent aren't entirely honest. The execution is more for show - it was prescribed for the main domain, the rest were βforgottenβ, for example:

$ dig -t aaaa +short www.beltelecom.by
$ dig -t aaaa +short my.beltelecom.by
$ dig -t aaaa +short sms.beltelecom.by
Yes, the decree does not say that IPv6 is provided free of charge, so some providers did not fail to set a price for them. For example, for individuals Beltelecom
But, the banks should have enough money to buy, check them on the list
Total domains: 27
AAAA-recorded: 1
Total: 3.7%
Only ideabank.by was able to fork out for such an expensive service.
Well, banks are commercial organizations, they save money, but
Total domains: 127
AAAA-recorded: 6
Total: 4.72%

What can I say. We write decrees ourselves, we ignore them ourselves don't want to use IPv6 (Added in italics 2020-03-02 15:59 MSK to avoid ambiguity in the comments).
